Personal Platform

When I was about six years old, my grandparents partnered with Feeding America and the Arkansas Food Bank and started a nonprofit in Benton, Ar. called the Community Church Alliance. The main goal of the Community Church Alliance was to work as a catalyst in order to put a dent in in the statistics of people in Arkansas who go hungry. It's safe to say that at an early age, the idea of service was instilled in me. As I've gotten older, I continue to be an active member in my community. I've heard so many powerful stories and have met so many strong people who never knew where their next meal was coming from. At the Community Church Alliance, not only did we provide food for those who needed it, but we also provided clothing, toiletries, toys during the holidays , partnered with  other organizations to provide housing and help those in need after Hurricane Katrina, had a community garden to provide fresh fruits and vegetables and so much more. When my grandfather was diagnosed with dementia, we had to close down the Community Church Alliance to focus on his health, but I have continued to work at the food banks in my  community. Feeding America provides food for more than 46 million people, I've seen first hand, the difference food banks make. My main goal is to reopen The Community Church Alliance within the  few years. I am a firm believer that if we all come together, we can solve hunger. Below you can find a link to Feeding America's main website. I urge you to donate, go volunteer, and become familiar with pantry's in your community!
